Greg Gutfeld Boosted ‘Tonight Show’ Ratings To Annual Peaks While Chatting With Jimmy Fallon

Gutfeld Boosts Fallon’s Ratings

Nielsen Media Research reports that “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has seen a significant audience increase in 2025. Notably, Gutfeld, who typically appears on Fox News, made a guest appearance on Fallon’s show last Thursday to discuss his previous experiences. Nielsen’s data indicates that this episode elevated Fallon’s ratings to their highest since November 2024.

Viewership metrics reveal that last Thursday’s episode saw a remarkable growth, attracting an average of 1.7 million viewers—an approximate 57% increase—along with a 13% rise in viewers aged 25-54, totaling 294,000. Furthermore, this segment became the most-watched guest appearance of the previous week, garnering 974,025 views on YouTube by Tuesday evening.

July’s data shows that Gutfeld’s Fox News show has maintained its lead in the late-night slot, averaging 3.29 million viewers and drawing about 238,000 individuals in the 18-49 demographic during the second quarter. Compared to the same period last year, Gutfeld’s show has experienced a 31.5% increase in total viewers and a 24% jump among the demo audience.

In contrast, Fallon averaged about 1.19 million viewers in the second quarter, with 157,000 in the 18-49 demographic.

During his appearance on Fallon, Gutfeld reminisced about a time when they both ended up wrestling in a bar, jokingly stating they were both “wasteful” for their “illegal speaking.”

While late-night TV is often seen as predictable, CBS recently announced the cancellation of Colbert’s “Late Show,” signaling potential shifts in the genre.
