The 19-man Democratic-led state filed a lawsuit on Thursday demanding evidence of votes against President Donald Trump’s executive order.

The lawsuit was filed by California, Arizona, Connecticut, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Maine, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin. “Election EO violates the constitution. It obstructs the inherent sovereignty and constitutional power of states to regulate the times, places and methods of federal elections,” the lawsuit states.

“We will take the powers of Congress (under the election clause) and appropriate (under the expenditure clause) as Congress has not chosen to implement any changes the President is trying to impose in the statute, and therefore will take the appropriate (under the expenditure clause) away,” the lawsuit said. “The significant funds in question have already been largely allocated by Congress.”

On March 25, Trump signed an executive order to “protect integrity” in the US election, requiring voters to “verify citizenship.” [in every state]It also prohibits foreigners from interfering in US elections.
