Hans Zimmer got engaged during a concert at London’s O2 on Thursday night (15 June 2023) and brought his partner on stage to pose questions in front of the fans.
The 65-year-old film composer stopped his ‘Hans Zimmer Live’ show and invited her on stage to surprise his girlfriend in the audience.
Hans playfully asked, “Did you make sure the door was closed?” before joking that he forgot why he asked her to come with him. And so on. He then asked her, “Will you marry me?”
The couple then hugged and the whole crowd stood up to cheer on their fiancée.
Australian musician and singer Lisa Gerard was one of the first to congratulate her as part of Hans’ orchestra.
Concert-goer Nigel Adams, who owns the business advisory firm Ad Valorem, witnessed the engagement.
“It was a magical moment on a magical night. You could imagine seeing such a proposal in one of the films Hans wrote the music for,” he said.
The award-winning star has composed music for over 150 films during his career, including The Dark Knight trilogy, Dunkirk and The Lion King.
Having worked with some of film’s most famous directors, including Sir Ridley Scott, Ron Howard and Christopher Nolan, Hans also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
Hans has been married twice to models Vicky Carolyn and Suzanne Zimmer.
The composer filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Court in 2020 and separated from Suzanne.
The former couple has three children, and he also has a daughter, Zoe, with his first wife.
