“The Biden administration has argued that some or many of these are simply citizens who had bureaucratic problems or mistakes when filling out forms at the DMV. But the problem is that Virginia is a little different than Alabama. That’s it,” Turley told “America’s Newsroom” co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino. “As a governor. [Glenn] Yonkin pointed out that this was approved years ago by the Department of Justice under then-Governor Johnson. [Tim] Mr. Kane is ironically on the ballot in this election. And they say this was used within 90 days, the important so-called quiet period before the election. So the state is saying this is a pretty odd timing event. The Department of Justice green-lighted this law, and there were no objections even during this period that Democrats have allegedly used in years past, but if we use this law, If you exclude non-citizens, suddenly it becomes a problem. ”

“Virginia said these are actions that have basically been taken on the books for years,” Turley said. “If the DMV kicks back information to us that someone correctly or incorrectly identifies themselves as a non-citizen, that person has 15 days to correct it, even if they don’t. But as they continue that effort, their votes will matter. But this federal judge says no, put them back on the voting rolls. Bye.”

Yonkin criticized The court’s ruling in a statement released Friday: tell Fox News host Harris Faulkner will appeal to the state.

“What the governor is saying is voter-provided information. It’s an automated system. Remember, Virginia doesn’t know who these people will vote for. Targeting specific groups There is no effort,” Turley said. “This is an automated system that kicks in and says there’s an anomaly here, there’s a conflict, and this person identifies themselves as a non-citizen. Did a lot of states do it wrong? , or is there a mistake? Why are they wearing belts and suspenders like this? But one of the problems the state has is that every time there is a change of administration, they are harassed and sued by the Biden administration. Voter ID and other laws. “A new poll recently released shows that more than 80% of Americans support voter ID and proof of citizenship for voting. More than 80%,” Turney continued. . “I mean, how many issues in politics today can you name that have more than 80% agreement?”
