Butker, who represented himself in the negotiations, was scheduled to become a free agent after the 2024 season, according to Rapoport. The Chiefs are currently under contract with the three-time Super Bowl champion through 2028.
The average salary of $6.4 million makes Butker the highest-paid kicker in the league, ahead of Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott. Both $6 million per year. (RELATED: Harrison Butker's jersey soars onto best-seller lists after epic commencement speech, I might have to buy one)

Butker faced strong backlash for comments he made in a May commencement speech to graduating students at Benedictine University, a Catholic university.
During his speech, he criticized Pride Month, telling the women in the crowd that they had “told the worst lies” of all. “Some of you may have successful careers in the world, but I believe the vast majority of you are most excited about marriage and the children you bring into this world.”
His comments infuriated feminists and leftists across the country, leading critics to call on the Chiefs to fire him. A petition with over 1,000 members urged the team to fire the kicker. 238,000 signature.
Still, Kicker maintained he had no regrets about his comments. “The more I speak about my most cherished Catholic faith, the more divided I become,” Butker said in May. “This is a decision I made consciously and do not regret at all. If there is truth and mercy, I should trust in the Lord's providence and let the Holy Spirit do the rest of the work.”
