In an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Wednesday, Harrison Ford confirmed he would step back from his acting career in the near future.

Ford admits he is thinking about what life will look like for him outside of acting, and says he has some plans he is looking forward to.

Ford won’t leave the spotlight anytime soon, but his plan to leave Hollywood appears to be on the horizon.

The actor is committed to an ongoing project and puts energy into completing his work.

“But I want to finish what I’m doing,” Ford said.

The actor has a big film on the horizon. He stars with Anthony Mackie in Captain America: Brave New World and plays US President Thadeus Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I’ve always wanted to work in different genres for different audiences,” the actor told WSJ.

“And when I saw Marvel movies I saw – I’ve never seen many of them – I’ve seen really great actors really have a good time. And I was like, “Hey, I was like, “Why don’t you get a part of it from me?”

“I want to fly more time,” he told WSJ, reminding fans of his passion for aviation.

It’s also a very important thing that Ford wants to focus on when his career slows down.

“I want to spend more time with my family at home,” he continued.
