At a town hall event in Michigan on Monday, moderator Maria Shriver revealed that the questions posed to Vice President Kamala Harris were “predetermined.”

We have the will to work in a bipartisan manner within the United States Congress.” Harris said. “I speak for myself. I did a fire drill, right. Our kids are currently learning how to keep themselves safe in the event of an active shooter at their school. I I went on a college tour last year with kids of college age. So I went to some vocational schools as well. And I asked the room, the auditorium was full, college age kids. Kids, and I asked them, “Raise your hand if you’ve had to put up with it at some point between kindergarten and 12th grade.” Almost every hand went up. ”
Harris worked with former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney to win support among moderate Republicans in key battleground states. The two will appear in moderated debates in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Oakland County, Michigan, and Waukesha County, Wisconsin, ABC News reported. Cheney predicted on Nov. 5 that a silent majority of Republicans would vote and emphasized the importance of voting according to one’s conscience, PBS News. reported.
The vice president previously struggled to answer the question directly when asked about his strategy to combat illegal immigration at an evening forum hosted by Oprah Winfrey, but he did give an indirect response. As illegal immigration takes center stage in the 2024 campaign after crimes committed by illegal immigrants and the arrival of more than 20,000 Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, Harris is pushing for bipartisan borders. Before mentioning the failure of the bill, he cited his experience as California’s attorney general and prosecutor.
During an appearance on 6ABC Philadelphia’s Action News, Harris also deflected questions about affordability and launched into a lengthy reflection on her middle-class upbringing and neighborhood lawns. When anchor Brian Tough pressed for plans to ease the cost of living for Americans, Harris turned to personal anecdotes from her childhood, emphasizing her mother’s work ethic and the importance of well-kept lawns in her community. He did not mention any specific policy proposals.
