HART: Democratic NYC Mayoral Sensation Zohran Mamdani Is Spreading Progressive Falsehoods

The Complex Landscape of Today’s Democratic Politics

Democrats these days seem to have some very determined figures. Jasmine Crockett, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Senator Adam Schiff, and others—let’s call them “The Squad.” Now, a new face has emerged: Zoran Mamdani, closely associated with the socialist agenda in New York.

Mamdani’s background is quite interesting—originally from Uganda and identifying as Muslim, he aligns with many Democratic values. Rumor has it that some Democrats are even exploring the possibility of Hawaiian birth certificates for him.

However, there’s a catch. It turns out Mamdani has misrepresented himself on university applications, claiming to be black and African. I can’t help but wonder why he leans into that Ugandan narrative.

Both of his parents are actually South Asian, which complicates things a bit. The difference between Mamdani and Senator Elizabeth Warren, in a way, is that Mamdani’s claims might actually pass a lie detector test, if we’re being honest.

There’s also the matter of potential legal trouble with Tiger Woods, who could argue that Mamdani is infringing on his identity by declaring himself as both black and Asian. Woods has built an incredible golf career without needing affirmative action or any external help. Unlike Mamdani, he stands as a true role model.

On top of that, Mamdani’s pro-Palestinian stance and calls for stricter gun regulations are raising eyebrows. Democrats are starting to take note of his extreme positions, which feels unsettling given his recent nomination as a Democratic mayoral candidate. Wasn’t it Thomas Jefferson who suggested that platforms like TikTok shouldn’t be the basis for democracy?

The young left seems to be gravitating toward Mamdani, perhaps influenced by a mix of liberal college teachings and the burdens of student loan debt. They have this notion that socialism is a highly desirable alternative, despite its historical failures.

Figures like Obama, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, and AOC have painted socialism as a utopian dream—a dream that, frankly, many haven’t had to pay for.

Meanwhile, it’s interesting to note that prominent figures like Bernie and AOC often travel in style, flying first class across the country for paid speeches. I mean, how can they realistically claim to fight against the affluent when they’re living that lifestyle?

History shows that placing socialists into economic roles usually leads to disaster. Young leftists often dream of free education, healthcare, and housing, but they seem insulated from the lessons of history—lessons that emphasize the very basic needs of society.

Socialism, which aims to replace capitalism, can breed a generation that shies away from hard work. When they hear “free markets,” they may assume that the government will just step in and cover the costs.

We’ve seemingly nurtured a generation that fears risk. If something is daunting, it often feels like a reason to hold back. But, honestly, there’s a kind of growth that comes from facing challenges—and that shouldn’t be dismissed.

Liberals may promote a narrative that paints capitalism as malevolent, but the reality is that free-market capitalism has vastly improved humanity wherever it has been allowed to thrive.

Take a look at countries with strong governments that stifle business. The poverty and turmoil in nations like Venezuela, North Korea, and Cuba are stark reminders of what can happen when markets are controlled.

As for immigration, I truly believe in a legal framework that supports those who want to assimilate and believe in the American dream. Those individuals—the diligent and entrepreneurial ones—are the backbone of our society. After all, just last year, a guy who worked at a McDonald’s drive-thru is now leading discussions about our national security. What a remarkable country we live in!
