Harvard Medical School Affiliate Looks To Retract Multiple Studies, Correct Papers

According to the Wall Street Journal, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School has retracted six studies and corrected 31 papers, citing an ongoing investigation into several senior cancer researchers and administrators. It is said that they are planning to do so.

The study included more than 50 papers, four of which were co-authored with Dr. Laurie Glimcher, CEO and director of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. according to In WSJ. The institute has not disclosed whether research misconduct occurred, but the journal has received multiple requests for retractions and corrections. In a blog post in January, molecular biologist Sholto David described signs of image manipulation in academic research by researchers at Harvard University, according to WSJ. Last year, the institute became aware that an unspecified number of other papers may have problems and is currently looking into them.

“We knew about many of these papers and their claims before they posted them on our blog,” Dr. Barrett Rollins, the institute's director of research integrity, told the Journal.

According to the WSJ, the three papers criticized by David did not require any amendments or retractions.

Harvard University President Claudine Gay faces several plagiarism allegations and her refusal to speak at a December 5th Congressional hearing on whether calling for the genocide of Jews violates the university's code of conduct. As a result, he resigned on January 2nd. Gay approved weakening of her plagiarism policy as dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2019, and her policy was later used to defend her.

Harvard University and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
