Hatchet-Wielding Maniac Allegedly Slashes 3 McDonald’s Workers, Walks Off With Cookie After Being Refused Free Meal

A man allegedly attacked three McDonald's employees with what appeared to be an axe on Sunday after they were denied free meals, Fox 32 reported.

The incident happened Sunday morning at a McDonald's on Chicago's Southwest Side, when a man allegedly attacked three employees. according to According to Fox 32, the gunman entered a McDonald's and demanded free food from the cashier, and when he was denied, he escalated the situation by attacking the cashier and two other women with a weapon.

According to Fox 32, an 18-year-old male employee was rushed to Christ Hospital where he is listed in fair condition. Two female employees, both 45 years old, were also injured in the incident. One woman was taken to Christ Hospital in serious condition, while the other was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where she is reportedly in fair condition. The suspect fled the scene but was later found by police at the CTA bus terminal across the street. The suspect has been arrested but has not yet been charged.

Mo Cannon, a customer who encountered the suspect shortly before the attack, described the encounter.

“He asked me for a dollar for his coffee. I ended up giving him a dollar and a bottle of Newport. He was going to attack him. I didn't know what he was going to do,” he told CBS Chicago. reportCannon also said he saw a man walking out of the restaurant, smiling, carrying a bloody axe.

“There was a little bit of blood on the axe. He was laughing. He was walking around with the axe like this and eating a cookie,” Cannon said. “The old lady had a hole in her head and one of the boys had a cut here. I think one of the boys had a cut on his face.”
