The Lake Havasu girls tennis team faced off against a tough Flagstaff team in a close game Thursday afternoon, with the Eagles defeating the Knights.
“Flagstaff is a very tough team and they ended up blowing us by a close margin of 3-6. We had the tools to win, but we were a little slow in executing.” head coach Andrew Maurer said. “I am confident that our team will continue to learn from this loss.”
Two of Habas' three goals came from Addison Sain and Faith Blower, giving the Knights a chance to advance to the doubles match.
“Adi Sane, a new member of the national team, had a great performance against Flagstaff. She was in great form and won the match 6-0, 6-1,” Maurer said. “Additionally, Faith Blower had a great win in the singles match, giving us a chance to advance to doubles. However, due to great sportsmanship, I complimented both teams overall.” You have to. That’s what it’s all about.”
The Knights, who won 8-1 on the road against Kofa on Friday, will travel to Prescott to face the Badgers on Tuesday.
“Prescott and Flagstaff have similar playing styles, so I’m really looking forward to Tuesday’s game. I hope we can take the lessons we learned against Flagstaff and make the necessary changes to get a better result.” “We're doing it,” Maurer said. “I think our girls will improve their performance by thinking more strategically on the court. It's important that they understand how to analyze their mistakes and make small adjustments on the fly. .”
