Havasu teen killed in motorcycle crash | Kingman Daily Miner

Lake Havasu City – A motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a teenager in Lake Havasu City is under investigation by police. Detective Chris Angus said officers responded to an incident on Highway 95, just north of Mulberry Avenue, around 10:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20.

“The 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 18-year-old Lake Havasu City resident James Whiting was driving north on the SR 95 when he lost control and left the road to the right. It turned out,” said Angus. “Whiting negotiated through landscaping and eventually hit a speed limit sign at which point he was kicked off the motorcycle.”

Angus said Whiting was wearing a helmet but didn’t respond. Whiting was declared dead at the scene when rescue efforts by police failed to resuscitate him.

Angus said Highway 95 was closed for several hours between Mulberry Avenue and Smoketree Avenue. He said speed appeared to be a factor and an accident investigation was underway.
