‘Have You No Decency?’: Dem Rep Flips Out When GOP Chairman Refers To Trans Female Member As ‘Mister’

Massachusetts Democrat Bill Keating clashed with Texas Republican Rep. Keith Self, who called trans Democrat Sarah McBride “Mr.” during a video hearing circulating on X on Tuesday.

“Mr. Chairman, could you please repeat the introduction again?” Keating asked.

Self began saying that “standards are established on the floors of the house” before Keating interrupted and asked what “standards” were.

Self-obligation.

clock:

“I do. McBride, Delaware representative,” Self said.

“Mr. Speaker, you’re in no particular order. Speaker, do you have no good sense? I mean, I’ve come to know you a little bit, but this isn’t decent,” Keating said.

Self said he “continues” the hearing, but Keating disagreed.

“You won’t continue with me unless you introduce it to a legitimately elected representative in the right way,” Keating said.

After that, the self ended the hearing.

South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace introduced a resolution in November banning biological men from using women’s toilets at the Capitol complex in response to the McBride election. McBride complied with the demand that women’s House Republicans do not use toilets or facilities after Mike Johnson ordered “all unity facilities” and “reserved for individuals of their biological sex.”

“I’m not here to fight about the bathroom. I’m here to fight for Delawalene and cut down on the costs my family faces,” McBride said in a statement. “Like all members, I will follow the rules outlined by Chairman Johnson, even if I do not agree with them.”
