Here’s every emergency call that Yuma Fire answered this week, 378 | Yuma







The Yuma Fire Department responded to 378 emergency calls.

8 General Fire Response

One of them caused an intentional fire in an apartment, two had a strong gas odor, one had a bathroom exhaust fan fire, and various alarms.

2 mutual aid

Includes: 1 call to assist Rural Metro with a county medical emergency and 1 call to assist Imperial County with wildfires in the Winter Haven area.

25 car accident

Includes: 2 involving pedestrians, 1 rollover, 3 involving 3 or more vehicles, 1 involving a cyclist

317 Other Medical Emergencies (both Major and Minor)

Including: 34 cases of dyspnea, 26 cases of chest pain/heart problems, 50 cases of fall-related injuries, 25 cases of unconscious persons, 7 cases of seizures, possible stroke cases. 1, 5 drunk, 1 under the influence of drugs, 18 psychiatric problems (12 threats or suicide attempts), 2 dehydration, 3 medical alerts, 2 allergic reactions, 3 asphyxia, 17 Altered or decreased level of consciousness, 1 fever, 3 diabetic emergency, 3 for male downcall, 2 for uncontrolled bleeding, 5 for severe headache,

2 for assault, 7 for back pain, 10 for abdominal pain, 3 for death, 1 for abstinence, 1 for laceration, 22 for welfare testing, trouble breathing after drinking a bottle of whiskey. 24 times – 1 pack of beer, 1 for a person injured by a knife falling on his leg, 1 for a small child with a toy stuck in his teeth, 1 for a person with a ring stuck in his finger, 1 for engine flash burns, 1 for gas grill flaming burns, and other illnesses and injuries (NOTE: NONE of this week’s total responses were to USBP holding facilities )

26 SPECIAL MISSIONS, PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AND RESIDENCE MISSIONS

Contents: 1 for EMS waiting at the rodeo, 1 for handicapped vehicle assistance, 1 to assist YPD with ladders to take photos of crash site, strong chemical odor 1 for illegal garbage burning, 2 for illegal garbage burning,

1 for a small wildfire, 1 for a propane leak, 1 for the strong smell of gas on 32nd Street and 3E, 1 for clothing that caught fire in the oven, and various alarms.
