In June 2022, a 23-year-old woman was reportedly sexually abused by 40-year-old Daniel Scott Larsen between 2014 and 2017, according to authorities. She was from the school district and the woman was a student at Winslow High School, the statement said.
The NCSO Criminal Investigations Unit investigated this report. The NCSO also said it had been alerted to multiple child sexual abuse allegations in the past, but did not elaborate on the outcome or details of previous allegations.
“Crime against children is an absolute priority for me and the entire Navajo County Sheriff’s Office,” said Navajo County Sheriff David Claus. “Our prayers are with the victims of these incidents and we hope they find healing in their recovery from this difficult situation.”
On Oct. 18, Larsen was indicted by a Navajo County grand jury on 14 counts, including sexual misconduct with a minor, child sexual abuse, dangerous crimes against children, and child solicitation. the sheriff’s office said.
