A hiker who fell into the frigid Arizona mountains was stranded before being rescued, officials said.

A member of the Pima County search and rescue team said they found the woman in the evening and “stayed with her overnight to minimize hypothermia.”
Early the next day, Pima County Search and Rescue turned to CPB for assistance.

A helicopter crew arrived at the scene before 9 a.m. and rescue workers were dropped off the injured woman, officials said.

Officials said the woman was flown in from the area and taken to a medical center in Tucson.
Mount Lemmon is about 20 miles northeast of Tucson.
