Yavapai County, Arizona — Governor Katie Hobbs A state of emergency has been declared in Yavapai County after a series of storms last month wreaked havoc on the region.
The declaration allocates $200,000 from the state’s General Fund to be used to repair infrastructure in central Arizona, freeing up resources to assist with restoration efforts.
Beginning March 15, the county experienced a series of extreme weather events that resulted in some communities having to evacuate their homes due to flooding.
“Camp Verde and neighboring communities that were hit by extreme weather last month will receive the relief they need,” Hobbes said in a statement.
At least three deaths were reported in surrounding counties during last month’s severe flooding events.
