Homeschool Happenings: Wildflower Exploration (Registration required, Limit 20 participants) – Plants – Events

Join Ranger Nikki to learn about wildflowers and take a nature walk to look for blooms. Click program title for more details.

Learn about desert wildflowers and other flowering plants with Ranger Nikki. We will start indoors in the Nature Center to discuss flowers and pollinators and then head outdoors to search for and observe them. We will take an easy 1-mile walk around the nature center and turf ramada areas to look for flowers such as fiddleneck, lupine, desert marigold, brittlebush and more!  We finish up the visit with a make-and-take craft project. Bring a camera and notebook to log your observations. You can also learn how to document your findings on the citizen science app, iNaturalist. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and Trailhead.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Estrella Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.   Registration for this program will close on Wednesday, March 20.
