What a shame!
During an in-game segment, the Charlotte Hornets gave away a PlayStation 5 (PS5) to a young fan…only to take it back when the cameras went off. The move sparked viral outrage across the sports world, and now the series is trying to right the wrong by trying to give PS5s back to kids, they say. I have trust issues myself. This segment took place during the break of a Hornets home game. against For the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte’s mascot (named Hugo) appears to be playing the role of Santa Claus, handing out wonderful presents to children.

On paper, it looked like a nice gesture by the Hornets while this kid was having a Grade-A Christmas. But then text conversations started circulating on social media claiming it was all a trick.
After taking away the PS5, the Hornets allegedly gave the kid a Charlotte jersey as if it was worth anything.

And now, according to a statement, the Hornets are trying to smooth things over by giving the boy a PS5 and a VIP experience at future home games.
