Hotel Del Sol in downtown Yuma seeks more money

Future Hotel del Sol transportation hub will be on the agenda again at Wednesday's City Council meeting

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office is requesting another change order valued at $214,030 for preconstruction services for the Hotel Del Sol.

The City Council has already approved a contract worth $1,015,000 for design and construction services in 2020.

It also approved $633,306 to rebuild the internal structure in 2022.

“The Arizona State Historic Preservation Office is requesting a change order to preserve that aspect of the building in order to preserve the building's historic elements, such as the Spanish Colonial arches on the exterior of the building,” City Councilman Art・Mr. Morales said. .

Councilman Morales said he will request more information from the public tonight to review progress on the project as well as budgeting.
