It's rough, but not that rough.
Justin VerlanderThe Houston Astros' superstar starting pitcher will start the season on the disabled list because he still has inflammation in his shoulder. But the news isn't all bad for the future Hall of Famer.
Houston coach Joe Espada confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying Verlander looks solid, but time will tell as to whether Verlander will be 100% healthy by the start of the 2024 season. “He's doing very well, but his days are numbered here. He won't be strong enough to start the season,” Espada told reporters. ABC13 Houston. “It's just a matter of timing. We want to do what's best for the JV and the club, and this is what's best for us at this time.”
Espada went on to say that Verlander's right shoulder didn't feel any pain after bullpen practice, suggesting the 41-year-old could return sooner than expected.

Most of the time this doesn't seem like a big deal, but still… As an Astros fan, I can't help but feel a little upset that this is the start of a new season, but at the same time, your team is the Astros .
No matter what their escapades (and drama) have thrown at them over the past few years, it's hard not to stay calm.
