Hello everyone, have a great Tuesday, there are 41 days left until the election and today we are going to talk about scandals.
I realized that various competitors might have gotten wind of the rumors about me. I now realize that this unwholesome indiscretion has only brought me some too-tight jeans and belated embarrassment. I am having affairs with not one, but two gentlemen: Ben and Jerry.
Not to brag, but it's reality. There may be pictures of me with a spoonful or two of beer in them. But in my defense, Ben and Jerry (although I don't think they're doing anything together) have helped me get through many difficult stories. They've been a source of satisfaction, revelation, and now unfortunately, public humiliation. I know journalists aren't supposed to engage with their sources, but how could I say no?
To me, New York Superfudge Chunks are, it seems, to be what Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is to New York magazine. Currently suspended writer Olivia Nuzzi.
If you're not an East Coast political journalist, you might be missing out 3,000 Stories About NuzziSuspect, 31 years old Sexting with Senor WarmbrainAge 70 and over I wrote a profile on him last year..
This is something you should never do in journalism. Generally, editors I hate sexy stuff with sources Because all the reporters look like British journalists. Semaphore editor Ben Smith wrote:I think somehow you are using the source to defend sex.
For salacious details, Nuzzi's “Modest Nude” Simply put, as you would think, Nuzzi is being accused of a lack of ethics. Fair enough.
But RFK Jr., who remains a presidential candidate in several state races, would be exempt.
He has not commented, but has allowed his “team” to spin a spin circus claiming that he is the victim and that Nuzzi continued to pursue him even after he blocked Nuzzi.
In the reporting frenzy blaming Nuzzi (and also holding her responsible for ethical lapses), the media is steeped in serious double standards. I have yet to see a reporter ask whether Kennedy sent Nuzzi the photos, or question his integrity or judgment. Multiple extramarital affairs and Even harassment of womenOr ask him why he's sexting with womenYounger than some of his own children.
RFK Jr. is a celebrity. Even if he doesn't win (and he obviously won't), he seems to have given up his potential disruptive powers to become part of the Trump campaign. If Trump wins, this man could decide the future of America's health care system. He went to the Supreme Court On Monday, he issued an emergency order to allow candidates to run again in New York state, so the race is still pretty close.
Why is he not being scrutinized with the same rigor for this latest scandal as Nuzzi, who, frankly, the average American has no interest in?
Just ask the 170 million women in America, and most of them know that it takes two to tango, even virtually.
Now onto the other scandals!

“Black Nazi” Scandal
Mark Robinson, the conservative Republican running for Governor of North Carolina, should probably send Nuzzi some champagne (no photos! no photos!) because, incredibly, her scandal seems to have put him off.
last week, CNN is shocking (And I say this as someone who is not easily shocked) An investigation into Robinson and the articles he posted on a pornographic website called “Nude Africa”.
CNN reported that in a site posting more than a decade ago, Robinson called himself a “black Nazi!” and used derogatory terms against several groups, including Jews, Muslims and blacks. He reportedly called Hitler's “Mein Kampf” a “good read” and suggested that the return of slavery would be a good thing. That's a lot, folks. I Something about sex.
But voters seem to be ignoring it all. While Trump has certainly distanced himself for now (and Robinson has denied that the comments and posts are his, adding that they're all false or generated by an AI), JD Vance doesn't seem to mind at all.
“I'm not a Republican,” Robinson said at a rally in North Carolina on Monday, after a reporter asked the crowd about Robinson, who was not present at the rally, and turned down the offer.
“I think I've been asked five questions so far, and three of them have been about what Mark Robinson may or may not have said on the message board 20 years ago. Like I said, that's for Mark Robinson to appeal to the people of North Carolina. I'm not going to appeal to him or the people of North Carolina. It's up to them to decide whether they want to believe it or not. That's it, really.”
So the Trump campaign is taking a big stab at a sex scandal.
Melania Trump's side hustle
Which brings us to Melania Trump, whose scandal is a minor one in comparison: reports emerged this week that she may have sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars ($247,500 to be exact). For speaking appearances In April, they met with Log Cabin Republicans, a conservative group that supports LGBTQ rights. It wasn't illegal, but it was probably unpleasant. It's unclear who wrote the check; they say it wasn't the Log Cabin people.
But here's the thing: I'm on Melania's side on this one. Go for it, make the money while you can. The former First Lady has never made it secret that she wants to cash in on her White House fame. And if Plan A is The Donald, can you blame her for having a Plan B?
So if her new $600 ““Vote Freely” Necklaceor if you're interested in the $250 collector's edition of her new book, or her $90 Christmas ornaments, go ahead and buy them.
Women have to earn a living and this isn't the biggest scandal of the week.
