Kody and Robin’s new home purchase sparks financial controversy
Just before the news of his massive $2.1 million mortgage broke, Without a Crystal Ball host Katie Paulson shared some insight into Kody’s financial woes.
The Blast reported that Paulson detailed the 55-year-old’s use of a revocable trust, the White Stone Trust, to purchase the Flagstaff property, and that it was set up by creditors. He pointed out that it does not protect them from child support claims. Paulson also criticized Kody for his debts to his ex-wives. In her words:
“Kody and Robyn didn’t need a new home, and they bought it while the couple was still in debt to Janelle and Meri. Additionally, Kody has been paying child support to Christine since they moved out in 2021. I haven’t paid.”
Couple’s Utah court order blocks home sale
Kody and Robin’s recent financial moves have come under scrutiny as they were unable to sell their previous home due to a Utah injunction. Paulson explained that jurisdiction in the child support case falls under Utah law, which requires Kody to keep the property.
“Child support is required by law in both Utah and Arizona. Failure to pay child support can result in fines and prison time,” she emphasized.
Despite recently purchasing a home in Flagstaff for $2.1 million, the couple now faces two expensive mortgages totaling more than $11,000 a month. The financial burden does not exempt the father of 18 children from paying child support. In fact, obligations under state law may even increase.
