Hunt Hwy / Arizona Farms Road Update – San Tan Valley News & Info

Pinal County Public Works has released an update on significant road improvements that will affect several key transportation areas in Santan Valley over the next few weeks.

Beginning July 13, paving work will begin on the Hunt Highway from Gantzel Road to Magma Road. This action closes the lane, but is not intended to be flagged. Commuters are advised to exercise caution in these zones.

Arizona Farms Road paving is also scheduled for July 13. Drivers should be prepared for possible delays if a flagger operation is taking place. In addition, night operations involving striping operations on the Hunt Highway can result in equipment slowing and flagging operations.

On July 14, preservation work will extend south from Magma Road on the Hunt Highway over an area of approximately 500 feet. This operation will require a half day of flag raising and may cause minor traffic disruption.

Pavement work will continue on Arizona Farms Road, and signage may cause delays. Nighttime striping operations on the Hunt Highway will continue and may require flagger operations and slow moving equipment.

A notable change is scheduled for July 26 with the installation of a temporary traffic light at the intersection of Hunt Highway and Arizona Farms Road. The improvements are aimed at improving traffic management at this busy intersection and drivers are advised to approach with caution as fellow commuters adapt to the new traffic patterns.

This series of road improvements will serve as a temporary measure for Phase 5 of the Hunt Highway Expansion Project. This is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and reduce congestion in growing communities like Santan Valley.

The Pinal County Public Works Department appreciates the patience and understanding of all residents during this transition period. Drivers are reminded to slow down and exercise caution when passing through work zones.

The department urges everyone to show respect for road workers who are committed to ensuring safety and improving roads.
