A man has filed a lawsuit against Disney after his wife died while dining at a Disney restaurant in Orlando, the New York Post reported Monday.
Kanokporn Tansuan, a doctor at New York University, died after eating at the Irish Pub and Restaurant on Raglan Road. according to to the New York Post. This led to a lawsuit alleging negligence by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Tan Xuan's husband, Jeffrey Piccolo, assured him that the food they ordered contained no allergens, even though his wife explicitly warned restaurant staff about her nut and dairy allergies. It is claimed that it was done.
The 19-page lawsuit, filed in Florida's Orange County Circuit Court, alleges Raglan Road staff assured Tangxuan that her dietary restrictions could be accommodated, the New York Post reported. After leaving the restaurant to stroll around the shopping area, Tan Xuan's condition rapidly deteriorated and he developed severe breathing difficulties.

According to the New York Post, she collapsed inside Planet Hollywood and was immediately given an EpiPen, but was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Her complaint points to the medical examiner's findings regarding her cause of death. The lawsuit accuses Disney of failing to honor its promise to prioritize guests' food allergies, alleging that staff were inadequately trained to ensure the safety of its purported allergen-free meals. According to the New York Post, Piccolo's lawsuit seeks more than $50,000 in damages under Florida's wrongful death statute for emotional distress, loss of income and funeral expenses.
