“If you look closely at 'G.I. Jane,' there were people trying to stop the movie even before it came out,” she told Variety.

“It was a total shock, but at the same time I understood that it's going to hit the person who steps forward first, and that goes for anyone who challenges the status quo,” Moore told Variety.
Moore urged fans to be open to a different thought process.
“The other truth is that I've always been attracted to things that are provocative, not sexual but meaningful and thought-provoking. Take 'Strip Tease' for example. It posed an interesting critique of women working as dancers, and the idea was that this woman was trying to take care of her children the best way she could,” she told Variety.
“In GI Jane, women have the skills to [serve]Why wouldn’t you want her there?’ I didn’t understand why that door was closed.” (Related: Demi Moore falls flat over strange new endorsement deal)
