Does anyone have $30 million to spare?
The jersey worn by New York Yankees legend Babe Ruth, who hit one of the most spectacular home runs in baseball history, could sell for an incredible $30 million at an upcoming auction, making it arguably the most expensive jersey ever sold. During the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs, Ruth was wearing a gray road jersey with the number 3 on it, and while wearing it, he made a gesture toward center field as if to call for a home run. Moments later, Ruth hit a fifth-inning home run, exactly in the direction he was pointing. (It's debatable, but I'm going with how the baseball gods originally intended it.)
The “Called Shot” is one of baseball's most memorable moments and has remained so ever since it occurred 92 years ago. As Heritage Auctions, the organization behind the auction, said in a press release, the scene has been “endlessly celebrated, imitated and recreated.” CNN.

Considering how controversial “Cold Shot” is these days, I'm honestly surprised this auction sold for $30 million, but it just goes to show how iconic this moment was (and still is) for baseball fans.
