Illinois Mother Reported to Have Been Attacked by Suspect with Numerous Prior Offenses

Illinois Woman Allegedly Attacked Near Union Station

Reports indicate that an Illinois woman suffered an attack on August 19th. Kathleen Miles was supposedly punched in the face by 32-year-old William Livingston as she approached Union Station. She has since stated that the incident left her with a concussion and multiple facial fractures.

In reflecting on the attack, Miles recalled waking up in a hospital, greeted by a colleague who reassured her, saying, “You’re fine. You’re in the hospital. You’ve been assaulted.” The next moment she remembered was her daughter, Deanna, telling her, “Hello mom, I’m here. It’s okay.”

According to Miles, her colleagues were present during the incident and witnessed Livingston intervene between the two women, pulling them apart and striking them.

Livingston faces several charges, including aggravated battery, with previous incidents listed in the Chicago Police Department records. This recent attack is not his first offense; he has a documented criminal history that includes multiple battery charges and a robbery.

Livingston had been sentenced in 2022 for attempting to rob four women in a short span of time and was released from prison on July 26, 2023. The Illinois Department of Corrections mentioned he received credits for time served. In a separate case in 2024, he was sentenced to 100 days for assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Miles expressed her frustration, pondering whether the attack could have been avoided, stating, “It’s 2025, and he’s out—if he had been held responsible for his actions, I wouldn’t be sitting here injured.” She plans to attend Livingston’s court appearance scheduled for September 15th.

This incident marks another violent event in Chicago, following a weekend in which over 50 individuals were shot and several were killed. Amid the rising violence, former President Donald Trump has expressed a desire to address the situation in the city.
