NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley threw himself at Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley's feet during an interview with her on CNN's “King Charles” Wednesday night.
“Governor, I want to vote for you. I mean it with all my heart,” Barkley bellowed to the former U.N. ambassador.
However, Barclay added a caveat. “I want to give my all and my heart to your campaign, but I was offended when you said you didn't think there was racism in America. ”

“First of all, I never said racism doesn't exist in America,” Haley responded. “Racism absolutely exists in America. I said America is not a racist country.”
Barkley has long been an outspoken voice in sports media, recently making headlines for calling San Francisco a city with “a bunch of homeless crooks.”
He was making money there, but he's out of place here. Nikki Haley isn't going to fight for ordinary people. Her donors won't forgive her. (Related article: Cuomo slams Sununu, says Haley was 'kissing the ring')
In this interview, Barclay pressed her about the border, saying: “I have to say the border is chaotic, but that's not enough…What is the best way to deal with the immigration issue?”
To Haley's credit, she gave pretty good answers, touting a national e-verification program, defunding sanctuary cities, hiring more Border Patrol agents, and changing catch-and-release to catch-and-release. Changed to support. But while it's easy to answer questions while running, implementing these policies is entirely someone else's business. And Ms. Haley's corporate donors, many of whom likely benefit from the cheap labor provided by the influx of immigrants, could prevent Ms. Haley from enacting these reforms. .
