In-state five-star receiver picks up crystal ball to Alabama in Tide vs. Tiger race

Recruiting for perhaps the most sought-after prospect in the nation, and certainly in the state of Alabama, is beginning to heat up.

Ryan “Hollywood” Williams, a five-star Mobile-area wide receiver from Saraland, Alabama, is a superstar in every sense of the word, gaining over 4,600 all-purpose yards and 65 yards over the past two seasons in Saraland. He scored an astonishing number of touchdowns.

Williams, who was the nation's No. 1 prospect in 2025, jumped over his senior year to change classes in 2024 and remained a top-10 prospect in a class with players more than a year older.

He was originally committed to Alabama in October 2022, but was decommitted after Nick Saban retired.

With Auburn and Texas pushing hard, Williams I made a headline Earlier in the week, it was announced that an official visit to Texas scheduled for this weekend had been canceled and the race would likely be Alabama vs. Auburn.

However, at least one leading recruiting prognosticator led Williams to recommit to Alabama and stick to his original commitment rather than head to the Plains.

Williams is coming off a visit to Alabama last weekend that reportedly went very well, and will visit Auburn next weekend on February 2nd, then on February 9th, his 17th birthday. We are planning to sign a contract.

Acquiring Ryan Williams would be the first big domino for Karen DeBoer to establish himself and his new staff as the South's ace recruiter.

By all accounts, he seems to have a pretty good shot.
