Indianapolis Colts Cut Players Suspended By NFL For Allegedly Gambling On Games

The Indianapolis Colts released defensive end Rashod Berry and cornerback Isiah Rodgers Sr. on suspicion of gambling violations today. The Colts released them minutes after the league suspended Berry and Rodgers for the same reason. according to NBC Sports.

The NFL concluded that Berry and Rodgers were betting on NFL games in the 2022 season and suspended both players. Both players could apply for reinstatement during the 2024 season, but they’ll likely need to find a new team considering the Colts didn’t hesitate to release them.

Berry played for the Patriots, Lions and Jaguars before signing with the Colts. Rodgers was a sixth-round pick by the Colts in 2020 and has played for the Colts throughout his career.

The NFL has released a statement announcing the suspension of two players, according to Sports Illustrated. report. says:

“Indianapolis Colts’ Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry and free agent Demetrious Taylor will be suspended indefinitely through at least the end of the 2023 season for betting on NFL games in the 2022 season. These players could apply for reinstatement at the end of the 2023 season.”

This is the latest in a string of suspensions inherited from the NFL.
