Influential cattle association lines up behind Dobson for Congress

One of the most influential and longest-running livestock organizations in the United States has endorsed Carolyn Dobson for the Republican nomination for Alabama's newly elected 2nd Congressional District.

The Texas and Southwest Cattlemen's Association was founded in 1877 and currently advocates for the interests of more than 26,000 beef cattle operations, ranching families, and businesses.

“The Texas Southwest Cattlemen’s Association PAC is proud to endorse Carolyn Dobson for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District. Ms. Dobson supports ranchers and landowners and will work with them if elected. He will represent those interests well,” said Arthur Uhl III, co-chair of the group’s political action committee.

Dobson, who grew up on his family's ranch, said he was honored and thanked the livestock association, drawing a contrast between himself and his opponents.

“We are honored to receive this support from TSCRA, an organization on the front lines of agricultural advocacy,” she said. “I am the only candidate in this election who has seen firsthand the challenges that farmers, ranchers, and landowners face every day. As the representative for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District, I bring this experience to bear. I plan to use my skills to become a staunch advocate for the farming community.”
