The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call about a pregnant woman who had sustained injuries and was found lying on the road.
In Lake Montezuma, Arizona, authorities have apprehended a suspect after discovering the injured pregnant woman on an Arizona roadway.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene near Morning Drive and Beaver Creek Road in Rimlock following reports of a woman injured while lying in the street.
Witnesses informed YCSO that they observed a white SUV, similar to a Jeep Cherokee, driving away from the area.
The 29-year-old woman was reported to be seriously hurt. She was airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix and is expected to survive, although the condition of her fetus remains uncertain.
On September 8, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 30-year-old Jesus Junior Luis Hernandez, who is suspected to be involved, along with a vehicle linked to the incident.
Investigators suspect that the woman fell from the vehicle while Hernandez was allegedly driving her and subsequently left the scene.
