An Australian father reportedly died on Sunday while trying to save his twin daughters after their stroller rolled onto nearby train tracks.
Anand Ranwal, 40, rushed to save his two-year-old daughters from an oncoming train at Sydney station. according to The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH). Police said the incident happened at about 12:30pm and SMH previously report.

When officials arrived on scene, they found a stroller underneath the train and heard crying coming from underneath the carriage. (Related: Police say freight train kills 3, including child)
“Police managed to get under the train and rescue one of the children unharmed and reunited him with his mother,” Dunstan said, according to the media. The surviving child fell between the tracks at the station and was “largely unharmed,” he added.
Runwar and one of his twins were killed in the incident, SMH reported.
“He went into parent mode and tried to save his two young daughters and lost his life in the process,” New South Wales Premier Chris Minns said at a news conference, the media reported.
“The two-year-old daughter is doing well but the mother has suffered great trauma. She is part of the local Indian community and has received plenty of support from family and friends,” Minns was quoted as saying.

SMH reported that the train was not scheduled to stop at Carlton station, where the accident occurred, but appeared to slow down as it passed through the station. Sydney Trains CEO Matt Longland said the station would remain closed on Sunday following the accident and was due to reopen on Monday.
“I hope that in time they will find some solace in knowing that their father died in an extraordinary act of instinctive bravery,” Minns was quoted as saying. “It will not bring him back to life or his young daughter, but in the face of this horrific accident, they must never forget that – he gave his life to try to save his children.”
