In a video released Tuesday, two undecided voters in battleground states criticized the way Vice President Kamala Harris answered questions during a campaign event.
Harris on Friday Interview On Philadelphia's 6ABC Action News, she spoke at length about her middle-class upbringing, and when host Brian Taff asked her what “concrete” strategies she would use to improve rising prices for Americans, Nevada voter Jamie and Pennsylvania voter Kimberly claimed Harris' answer was “insulting.” Focus Groups Recorded on Monday on Platform 2WAY. “As for Harris, I don't see any reason to vote for her right now because every time she's asked a question she either goes straight into a speech, goes off on a tangent, or doesn't answer the question directly,” Jamie said. “So while I'm annoyed with Trump, I feel like she's insulting my intelligence and doesn't think I can see through it.”
“I totally agree with you. I feel insulted by her in a way. I feel like this is an election she's going to lose because I think there are a lot of people who are sick and frustrated with Trump and like you said, he's just dividing the country,” Kimberly replied. “But at the same time, I feel like Kamala has done the same thing that Trump has done, especially in the debates, and I think that's insulting to voters who don't know what to do. She's not saying anything to inspire us or give us confidence. It's just so frustrating.”
Vice President Harris avoided directly answering questions about her multiple policy reversals during the presidential debate on September 10, instead talking about her “middle class” upbringing while explaining that her “values haven't changed” despite her policy changes.
CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten warned on Monday that while Harris currently leads Trump nationally by 2.5 points, she only has a little more than a 50% chance of winning.
“Even if Harris wins the popular vote by two or three points, she only has a 53% chance of winning the Electoral College. In essence, she would have to go all the way north to three or four points to have a clear chance,” Enten said. “She has a majority chance of winning the Electoral College. If she wins by less than two points, she only has a 23% chance of winning. Harris is in the danger zone right now. Essentially, given the national popular vote margin, she has about a 50/50 chance of winning.”
Harris currently leads Trump by 1.2 percentage points in Nevada, while Trump is ahead of Harris by 0.2 percentage points in Pennsylvania. According to to the average value of RealClearPolling.
