‘Intellectually Lazy’: Victor Davis Hanson, Megyn Kelly Rip Harris’ ‘Fake Affectations’ While Responding To Questions

Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson and SiriusXM's Megyn Kelly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris' “fake affection” when answering questions about her campaign and policies.

During the current campaign, Harris has come under fire for vague responses and was criticized in interviews for failing to explain her gaffes regarding certain left-wing policies during the 2020 presidential campaign. Hanson said on “The Megyn Kelly Show” that she believes Harris “hasn't spent any time” preparing for the interview because she's allegedly relying on corporate media to protect her.

“She does it every interview, and she's not stupid. I joke that she might have said she has a 500-word vocabulary, but they I think she's giving these prep books and she's just intellectually lazy. She doesn't even read the books and she doesn't spend the time. It's from Willie Brown. Even though the media has never crossed my path, I have been very nurtured throughout my life by being given something.” And she's right,” Hanson said.

The senior researcher detailed her appearances, from the Sept. 10 debate stage to her recent interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhl. Hanson went on to call for an interview and said he believed they “all knew” they “had to help her.” (Related article: 'Nobody cares about your mother': Megyn Kelly responds to Harris in recent interview)

“It just happened — it escalated and went into a vicious cycle, but they all knew what they were doing and didn't care about it. Her reaction to all of this was , was, “I'm just going to get on with it.” I'm not going to pick up a preparation book. I'm not going to look at policy. I don't do interviews, I don't do town halls, I don't do press conferences.[s]. There's no need for that. So I don't even want to know the data about my financial plans — I don't care,” Hanson continued.

clock:

“A normal candidate, Megyn, would say, 'Okay, I said I'm in favor of wage and price controls. If I had a date to start and someone said, 'Why don't we start now?' Please tell me what to say. What’s the date and how are you going to do it?’ … They wouldn’t do that to her,” Hanson said. “I think they're just giving up. If you try to prepare her for the details, she'll get mad because she doesn't want to do it and she doesn't need to.” And they're right, but… , she isn't. ”

Kelly then stepped in to chime in with Hanson, saying he appeared to be “playing” the role of presidential candidate and vice president.

“But you're really on the forefront of acting, because I think that's what happens when someone who plays a presidential candidate plays what they think is the vice president.” That's why “hopes, dreams, and optimism” are so appealing. It’s how she carries herself through it every time,” Kelly said.

“If she says, 'Look, I believe people are losing hope, but we shouldn't, because this country is supposed to be a country of people with ambition, aspirations and dreams.' is another thing,” Kelly continued. “Actually, I could stand it. It's her love, the fake love with her hands and gestures, her attempts to seem like she came up with this profound inspiration.[ration] For the children. ”

After the interview with Rhule, the MSNBC host acknowledged that Harris did not give an in-depth interview, saying the reason was because she was a “politician.”
