‘Is He Strong?’: Sean Spicer Questions Ro Khanna On Whether Hakeem Jeffries Can Lead

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer asked Rep. Locanna, a California Democrat on Friday about whether minority leader Hicombe Jeffries is a formidable leader of the House Democrats.

Democrats were backlash over how they acted during Tuesday’s Congress speech, where President Donald Trump protested and rarely stood — even when the president praised Americans who had lost their families or faced illness. For example, the family of the late Laken Riley, a 22-year-old woman who was murdered by illegal immigrants while running at the University of Georgia, was a guest present. Trump also honored DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old boy with cancer, by making him an honorary Secret Service agent during his speech.

Poller Frank Lunz said viewers disliked how Democrats behaved to viewers of the speech, and viewed it as “performance art” and “bad form of opposition.”

Spicer, onMorning meeting” cited the analysis that some Democrats are angry at leadership to allow such behavior to occur. (Related: 22 DEM Senators denounce Trump in a copy-repeated speech ahead of the president’s speech to Congress)

“There is a lot of talk about political dealings about Democratic leadership, whether it is Hakeem Jeffries or not. [Senate Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer or anyone,” Spicer said. “And that was kind of funny. One of the analysis was like people were upset about the small group they paid attention to in your caucus. They were upset with them, but they were almost equally upset with the leadership that allowed it to happen.”

“So, do you think my question to you is that there is a lack of strong leadership?” he asked. “Back to ” [former House Speaker Nancy] On Pelosi’s day you can say what you do about Nancy Pelosi, but she ruled with the iron fist. And I don’t feel like the Democrat Caucus rank and file are looking at Hakeem Jeffries [House Minority Whip] Katherine Clark and say, “Guys, we can’t cross them.” ”

Jeffries asked Democrats not to cause distractions during Trump’s speech, advised his colleagues to be “a strong, determined, dignified democratic presence in the room.” Get By axios.

“Well, I think Hakeem’s success in his last term, the final cycle, was to let the Democrats find their own voice. He wasn’t governing with the iron fist… he was very well known,” Kanna said. “I still think he’s very much liked in the Caucus across the Caucus, but the challenge is now, along with Trump, that he’s really the leader.”

Kanna said the prominent Democratic governor is now “not the leader” of the party, saying, “The Democratic leader is our Congress leader. And I have a lot of respect for Chuck Schumer as a legislator. But when it comes to the younger, dynamic voice, it’s Hakeem.” (Related: Shortly after interviewing Hakeem Jeffries, Stephen A. “But is he strong?” Spicer asked Kanna. “I mean, I think the question is that he said he is well known.

Spicer then stated that there was a political work that included reports that parts of Kanna’s Caucus were upset by a “explosion” during Trump’s speech, referring to Democrat Texas Rep. Al Green, who was ostensibly confused the speech in the first few minutes and ended up kicking him out of the room.

“Pelosi would never have made it happen,” Spicer said.

“I don’t know if Pelosi could have stopped all of them from saying all of them, but Pelosi may have made it clear what our guidelines are,” Kanna replied. “And next time, I think my recommendation to leadership at least is to send an escort committee. I’ll make it clear that we should stand and I’ll give it a President. We support the gallery story.
