Let’s send a shout out to Philadelphia! And go to the birds!
The Philadelphia Eagles secured a spot in Super Bowl XIX with a win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship on Sunday, but Philadelphia got exactly the reaction they deserved – America’s Coolest A party filled the streets of one of the city’s largest cities. They’re taking their butts off.
After the Birds installed 50 burgers Philadelphia City Hall was lit green in recognition of the team’s need to change its name to the Redskins, and fans began gathering in the streets in the process. Amidst the chaotic anticipation, city officials and police decided to grease the pole to prevent fans from climbing it like in previous years, but you know how Philadelphia does it. They climbed those bad guys anyway! Broad Street was filled with fans, and it was a spectacular sight with City Hall shining in green. To make the scene even better, fireworks were set off in the middle of downtown. Eagles fans created a glorious atmosphere while celebrating their game. February 9th Super Bowl matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
