It's official! Mauricio Pochettino will be the next manager of the USA!
Yes, it may have taken a while for the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) to finalize everything, but they've finally gotten their wish by hiring world-class coach Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager. Announced On Tuesday, it was announced that the 52-year-old Pochettino would be the next United States national team manager, finally cementing long-standing rumors that he was in line for the job.
In a video posted to the official U.S. Men's Soccer Twitter account, Pochettino said he was excited to join the national team, with his first match as head coach coming up in October in Austin, Texas. U.S. Soccer sporting director Matt Crocker announced Pochettino's hiring in a statement and expressed confidence in the program going forward.
