‘It’s What’s Inside’ Trailer Looks Like Terrifyingly Grown-Up ‘Jumanji’

Netflix released the trailer on Wednesday for “It's What's Inside,” a psychological horror-comedy that feels like a terrifyingly grown-up version of “Jumanji.”

The premise of “It's What's Inside” is a cliché one: a group of friends get together for a pre-wedding party in a big, haunted mansion and decide to play a game… but the rest of the story is pretty fantastical (in a really good way). trailer The characters are shown sitting in a circle with electrodes attached to their temples, while one of their friends sits in front of an old suitcase filled with strange devices.

“If you think of your brain as a hard drive, this just transfers files,” one friend said, causing an uproar.

The majority of the trailer is based on Robin Williams' original children's classic “JumanjiIt's about a child who gets sucked into a nightmarish board game and then frees himself as an adult. (Related: M. Night Shyamalan's terrifying new series 'Cad Lake' is both beautiful and creepy)

In this game, the young characters aren't chased by wild animals, poachers, or killer plants; their fears live in their own “hallucinatory” minds and each other's bodies. But don't be too scared, as the film is coming out just in time for Halloween, and isn't necessarily designed as an all-out horror.

“It's a sci-fi thriller with jokes,” says director Greg Jardine. said Project Tudum. If anything, it's a “horror for the soul” that apparently “descends into existential chaos.” Overall, the film seems pretty prescient. I'll definitely tune in to check it out!
