‘I’ve Been Blessed’: Amid Recovery, Jeremy Renner Shares Surprising Silver Lining Post-Accident

Jeremy Renner gave an enlightening perspective on life after a snowplow accident in an interview with PEOPLE magazine published Saturday.

More than a year has passed since the 53-year-old actor suffered near-fatal injuries in a snowplow accident, according to reports. people. Renner reflected on this event with a new sense of gratitude and a deep appreciation for the gentler aspects of his life. Renner revealed in his recent conversation that the experience has softened him considerably.

“I certainly took a lot of callousness out of me with that machine. I've never been bitter, but I've always been a little more callous, maybe a little more tough. And I think those calluses are just being chipped away from me at this point. Literally, I feel so open and amazingly sensitive and youthful,” he tells PEOPLE. “I'm blessed.”

According to PEOPLE, Renner had a difficult road to recovery, undergoing multiple surgeries and spending long periods in the hospital. The accident occurred near his home in Nevada and left him with more than 30 broken bones. But Renner's spirit remained strong, fueled by the unwavering support of his daughter Eva, her family, and friends. Ranner credits his miraculous recovery to the love and encouragement he received at the time. “Everything went well,” he recalls. “Obviously, I had the tenacity, I had a lot of support, I had a lot of reasons to bounce back. That's really special. There's a lot of people who don't have that, [don’t have] Live for them. ”

“It wasn't about me getting better. It was about healing them. That's how I was able to get out of my own way… Yeah, the love and support I got from people, Hey, hey. I didn't know so many people were saying bad things about me. Maybe they did, Hawkeye. [But] Me as just a human being, that's a different thing, you know what I mean? ”

“Every part fell into place. From my vision to walking, no one said I would walk again,” Renner further added. “I'm like, 'Right…'” Despite the severity of his injuries, against all odds, he not only regained the ability to walk, but also started performing stunts again, PEOPLE reports.
