Ivey to deliver State of the State address next week


Gov. Kay Ivey will deliver her seventh State of the Union address to the Alabama Legislature and Alabamians next week, her office announced Monday.

Ivey will address a joint session of the Alabama Legislature in the Old House of Representatives at the state Capitol on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

“As we prepare for the upcoming legislative session, it is clear that while the state has made great strides, there is still work to be done,” Ivey said. “I remain dedicated to ensuring that every child in Alabama has access to a high-quality education that meets their unique needs. This legislative session promises to be eventful and successful. Masu.

“I look forward to working with Congress to ensure a positive outlook for Alabama today and tomorrow.”

Ivey is expected to promote the education savings account bill in this year's speech. The governor said this bill is at the forefront of his agenda for the 2024 legislative session. Ivey said ensuring quality educational opportunities for all Alabama students is a top priority this school year.
