We have big news from Notre Dame.
The university’s athletic director, Jack Swarbrick, is reportedly stepping down from the position in 2024. announcement from school on Thursday. NBC Sports Group Chairman (and Fighting Irish alum) Pete Bevacua has been named as his successor. It’s the first time since 2008 that the athletic department at Notre Dame has a new boss.
The transition is expected to be completed “during the first quarter” of next year.
Bevacqua, who graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1993, officially joined the school’s athletics team in July, serving as special assistant to the president for track and field under John Jenkins and under Swarbrick. You will join below as a leader.

Under the leadership of Kerry and Swarbrick, Fighting Irish played in the 2012 BCS National Championship game and twice in the 2012 College Football Playoffs. 2018 and 2020.
