James Carville Floats Wild Theory On What He Thinks Links The Two Attacks

Democratic strategist James Carville said on CNN Thursday night that there is no connection between the New Orleans attack and the Cybertruck bombing in Las Vegas because both suspects have some “sexual issues.” He said he thinks there is.

Early Wednesday morning, around 3 a.m., 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar drove his truck through crowds celebrating New Year’s festivities on Bourbon Street, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens more. Then, around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, 37-year-old Matthew Alan Leiblesberger allegedly opened fire on his Tesla Cybertruck before exploding, injuring several people nearby. Some have questioned whether the two incidents are related, but President Joe Biden said he has “not reported anything” about a connection. Officials said they were continuing to investigate a possible link. CNN host Anderson Cooper told Carville on “Anderson Cooper 360” that two of the suspects in the attack had military backgrounds, adding: “It shouldn’t be shocking, but it’s still shocking.” he added.

“The problem is especially [the] The Las Vegas man was a highly trained soldier, but the crazy man from Houston had been in the Army for nine years. I mean, I’ve been in the military. All you have to do is learn how to handle explosives if you want. Luckily for us, 99.99% of them don’t do that,” Carville said.

“But at the end of the day, this is my theory, and it’s probably correct 80% of the time. These people have some sort of sexual problem. I think most of them are incels.[s]. We say 20% is wrong, but if you look closely, it’s no more wrong,” Carville said.

By Wednesday morning, authorities had identified Jabbar as the suspect, later confirming that the 42-year-old was born and raised in Texas. He served in the Army on active duty from 2006 to 2015 and then in the Army Reserve from 2015 to 2020. According to Go to NBC News. After driving through the crowd, Jabbar engaged in a gunfight with authorities, and was confirmed to have been shot dead during the incident.

Although the New Orleans attack has been confirmed to be an act of terrorism, Las Vegas authorities still question the motive in the Libersberger attack. At a news conference Thursday, Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said they found a person inside the Tesla Cybertruck with a gunshot wound to the head and a handgun near his feet before it exploded. Authorities reported finding a fireworks mortar and camp fuel canisters inside the truck. Authorities also said the motive remains unclear.
