James Comer Requests DOJ Prosecute Andrew Cuomo For Allegedly Lying To Congress

House Oversight Committee Chairman, Kentucky’s James Kommer, introduced current New York City candidate Andrew Cuomo to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal prosecution Monday afternoon.

“The former governor has made a deliberate and deliberate statement to Congress regarding his involvement in a state government report that underreported the deaths of New York nursing homes during the Covid-19 pandemic.” Comer’s recommendation that Attorney General Pam Bondy will indict Cuomo for “liing to Congress” follows Biden Dozi’s decision to ignore the previous introduction from House Republican October 2024. Cuomo testified before the House Selection Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in September, giving his closed testimony to the subcommittee regarding his administration’s controversial policy that will allow thousands of positive Covid-19 patients in the state to be admitted to the state’s nurse facilities in June.

House Republicans accused Cuomo of trying to avoid accountability by allegedly lying to Congress about his involvement in a state government report that compensated for the deaths in the nursing home. Comer argued in a press release Monday that the former governor’s testimony to Congress about the nursing home crisis and subsequent handling of the cover-up was “clearly wrong.”

“Andrew Cuomo is a man with a history of corruption and deception, and now I’ve caught lying to Congress during an investigation by some subcommittees on the tragedy of Covid-19 nursing homes in New York,” Comer said. “This was not a slip-up. It was a cover-up calculated by men trying to protect themselves from liability for the devastating loss of life in a nursing home in New York.”

“Let’s be clear: lying to Congress is a federal crime,” Comer said. “Cuomo must be charged to the fullest extent of the law. The House Oversight Committee is fully cooperating with the Justice Department’s investigation into Andrew Cuomo’s actions and is ready to ensure he explains.”

Cuomo’s March 2020 guidance, which banned nursing homes from refusing to reject patients just for a Covid-19 diagnosis, led to the deaths of thousands of elderly people, according to a 2021 report from State Attorney General Lettia James.

The Daily Caller News Foundation first reported in May 2020 that the New York State Department of Health’s intentionally and incorrectly incorrect deaths in nursing homes by changing the classification system. James’ report said Cuomo’s administration could have made up for the deaths of the elderly home coronavirus by nearly 50%.

“This was nonsense last year, and even more so now,” Cuomo spokesman Rich Atzpaldi couldn’t be better. I said Notus Monday. “As the DOJ constantly reminds people, this kind of transparent attempt to compete with election interference and legally violates its own policies. These kinds of referrals are also made to planned parent-child relationships, Hillary Clinton and Anthony Fauko.

Cuomo is currently at the forefront of the Democratic mayoral primary in New York City to take over Mayor Eric Adams. According to In a recent opinion poll. The former governor runs as a moderate in busy major areas.

New York Sen. Jessica Ramos, one of Cuomo’s opponents to the Democratic mayoral appointment, suggested during his testimony to Congress that the former governor did not act maliciously during his testimony to Congress, as he was said to be suffering from a decline in cognitive decline.

“I don’t think New York City can afford the Joe Biden moment,” Ramos said. I said New York Post in an interview on April 17th. “I think there’s a real reason why he wasn’t answering the question.”

“Even when he went before Congress, he can’t remember any details about what he did,” Ramos added. “At least, at least his ego, but most certainly, I think it must have sacrificed his mental health.”

Cuomo resigned in August 2021 following a report from Attorney General Letitia James, claiming he retaliated against several people who sexually harassed him and brought complaints about him. Cuomo denied any fraud.
