Dr. James Earl Davis passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Washington on May 13, 2023. He is 79 years old.
Jim was born in Gratiot County, Michigan, to Duane Davis and Florence (McKnight) Davis. He graduated from Ithaca High School in his 1962. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he majored in premedicine and English, graduating in 1966. He met his future wife, Roz Jouvet, while in college, and they married in 1968. Jim graduated. After training at the Portland Osteopathic Hospital in Portland, Oregon, he and Roz moved to the small community of Klutzkany, where they opened Dr. Bob McDonald’s family practice. He attended the Kratskany Clinic and raised his three children named Wendy, Eric, and Luke. In 1987 Jim married Dorothy Murphy and moved to Rainier. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a position as the first dedicated emergency care clinic physician at Kaiser Permanente in Longview, Washington, and retired in 2003. Jim enjoyed his retirement sailing and traveling in Long Branch, Washington. He also participated in the Mustard Seed project to develop the Key Peninsula’s first assisted living facility. Dorothy passed away in 2015, Jim reunited with his high school friend Kathy Crumbaugh in 2016, and the two married in 2021. The couple traveled from Michigan to Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Utah to spend quality time with family and friends.
Dr. Davis’ philanthropic and civic work includes serving as president of the Kratskany School Board, president of the Oregon Osteopathic Association, medical director of the Longview Care Unit, president of Key Center’s Mustard Seed Project, and subsequent treasurer. rice field. Jim was also very involved with the local church. His hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing, stargazing, whale watching, sailing, shipbuilding, woodworking, cross-country skiing, panning for gold, hiking the canyons of southeastern Utah, and rooting for his team, the Michigan Wolverines. was included.
His parents, Duane Davies and Florence Davies, died earlier. his sister Mary Graham; and his ex-wife Dorothy Davis.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Davis. He is the brother of John G. Davis. three children, his daughter Wendy (Jonathan) Cooley, son Eric (Vanessa) Davis, and his son Lucas Davis. Two grandchildren, Jacob and Nathan Davis. Stepdaughter Diana Murphy. Stepsons Doug Murphy and Darrin Murphy. And many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, grand-grandchildren and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on July 29, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Key Peninsula Lutheran Church, 4213 Lackey Rd SW, Lakebay, WA, 98349.
