Jamie Foxx broke his silence about his medical crisis in an emotional video posted to his Instagram account on Friday night.

The 55-year-old Oscar winner tried hard to hold back the tears in his eyes as he spoke about the health problems he faced. Fox told fans He “went in and out of hell” and described his feelings on what he called a “hellish” experience.

“I know a lot of people have waited and waited for updates, but to be honest, I didn’t want them to see me that way,” Fox said.

“I went through things I thought I would never go through,” he told his fans.

Fox was clearly shaken by the experience and told fans just how serious his condition was without revealing the actual details of his illness.

“I want you to remember me laughing and having a good time and partying and joking and doing movies and TV shows,” Fox said. “I didn’t want to be seen wondering if I’d survived after my tube fell out.”

“There have been some holes in my recovery path,” he said, suggesting to fans that his health did not stabilize and improve as soon as he left the hospital.

Fox praised his sister Deondra Dixon and daughter Corinne Fox for saving his life.

“I can leave this video for them, God, and many great medical people,” Fox said.

There was a poignant moment in the video, when Fox’s eyes turned bright red and he was about to burst into tears. He took this moment head-on. “I don’t do Take-Two. That’s what it is,” he said.

“It was hard, I was sick,” he said.

Fox thanked his family for their cooperation in keeping his personal medical issues private.

“I can’t put into words how wonderful it was to have my family on board in this way, and you know they kept it private. They didn’t leak anything, they protected me — and I hope that’s what everyone does in moments like this,” he said.

“But now I can come back and work.”

“I just want to say I love you guys and love all the love I’ve received,” he added.

“I am on this earth because of wonderful people. I am on this earth because of God,” he said.

Fox was rushed to the hospital in April, but did not disclose that he had a specific medical condition.
