Jamie Lee Curtis cries over Charlie Kirk’s death, despite their disagreements on nearly everything.

Jamie Lee Curtis Remembers Charlie Kirk

Jamie Lee Curtis became emotional while paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, the conservative leader who was killed during an appearance on the podcast “Christ.” This moment took place during her interview with Mark Maron on his podcast “WTF.”

Despite frequently disagreeing with Kirk’s political views, Curtis emphasized that grief should rise above partisan lines. Her comments were seen as a noteworthy display of respect within Hollywood, a space often divided by political allegiance.

“I’m sorry, Kirk. I guess I’m just calling him Christ in acknowledgment of his deep beliefs,” Curtis said, holding back tears.

As a liberal voice, Curtis admitted that she disagreed with Kirk on many points but prioritized compassion in her reflections. “I found his views to be, well, abominable; however, he was a father, husband, and a man of faith,” she expressed. “I hope his connection with God gave him comfort.”

She also addressed a troubling viral video of Kirk’s assassination, cautioning about the impact such images can have on society. Curtis compared the shocking footage to historic tragedies like the collapse of the World Trade Center and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“We are, as a society, deeply affected by images,” she noted. “But what does it truly do to us psychologically? We don’t have enough understanding of that.” Ultimately, she revealed that she chose not to watch the footage of Kirk’s assassination.
