Jason Segel Is Back As The Terrible Therapist We All Deserve In ‘Shrinking’ Season 2

Everyone's favorite awful therapist will return on October 16, Apple TV+ announced Monday.

Jason Segel returns to the big screen as perhaps the worst and best therapist of all time in Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence's brilliant series, Shrinking. The show follows Segel's character Jimmy as he does what most therapists should do: tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Jimmy ignores all of his training and succeeds in totally helping his hilarious clients (not really, but sort of) while further screwing up his own life.

A trailer for the series' revival was posted to YouTube early Monday morning, then quickly removed. The Daily Caller managed to take a look at it and wasn't disappointed. Nothing was said about the show; the cast was seen sitting on a park bench in front of a white background, which was enough to convey the idea. Along with Segel, the cast includes some of our favorite actors, including Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tenney, and Ted McGinley, with Miller delivering most of the funniest lines throughout the first season.

Goldstein is also set to make a guest appearance, but that is being kept “top secret” for now. according to Deadline. Spoiler alert: No one cares enough about the movie, actors or anything else to be “top secret.” We're just excited to see it.

It's good to see Segel back on screen. I think he was once best known as a comedic and dramatic actor, with roles in films like How I Met Your Mother and The Cuckold. He was also pretty well-known in indie films.

After “How I Met Your Mother” ended in 2014, things seemed to go downhill. IMDband then the first season of “Shrinking,” he didn't seem to do anything particularly big. (Related: 'Beetlejuice' Returns in the Most Shocking Way Possible)

Conversely, if you were starring in one of the biggest TV shows of all time, which also happened to be one of the last major sitcoms with significant residual profits, would you bother working if you didn't have to?
