Radiance Technologies Appoints New Chief Compliance Officer

Radiance Technologies, located in Huntsville, has named Jaytown as its new chief compliance officer. Town, a former U.S. lawyer and Marine Corps veteran, previously served the Northern District of Alabama.

He began his career in 2005 as a prosecutor with the Madison County District Attorney’s Office. Before that, Town was an external lawyer for a major defense company in New Jersey.

In his role at Radiance, he will be responsible for overseeing compliance operations, managing relationships with regulatory agencies, and enhancing the company’s risk management strategies.

Bill Bailey, the CEO of Radiance, expressed excitement about Town’s appointment, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Jay into the Radiance family. His critical legal experience and insights ensure that Radiance maintains its high level of compliance while protecting our innovative solutions. His proven leadership will help us enhance our capabilities and secure long-term success.”

Town announced the news through a social media post last week, sharing his enthusiasm for joining Radiance Technologies.

From 2017 to 2021, Town held the position of U.S. lawyer for the Northern District of Alabama, where he led federal prosecutions and collaborated with various law enforcement agencies. He was also involved with the Department of Justice’s China initiative concerning economic espionage and served on the Presidential Committee on Law Enforcement and the Judicial Administration.

Prior to this role, Town worked for 13 years as a senior prosecutor at the Madison County District Attorney’s Office. He began his legal journey as a judge’s advocate in the Marine Corps, where he served for 12 years and achieved the rank of Major.

Town earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame University and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University Law School. He is licensed to practice in Indiana, New Jersey, Alabama, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Notably, Town was among the first three U.S. lawyers appointed by President Donald J. Trump on June 12, 2017, confirmed by the Senate on August 3, 2017, and sworn in on August 11, 2017.

This isn’t his first leadership role with a Huntsville-based company; in 2020, he was appointed vice president and legal counsel at Gray Analytics.
